Great book...

So I don't read much. No, really, I have very few books to talk about. So, I get very excited when there is a book that I'm actually interested in and might actually finish. The new one is Blackwater, by Jeremy Scahill (a former producer for Democracy Now!) published by Nation Books. The book is a deep read into the mercenary company in North Carolina that has been supplying security (aka private contractors) for the Pentagon since 9/11. I'm only a few chapters in and it's amazing. It most certainly has an opinion about both the situation in Iraq and about Blackwater itself, but it is the most in-depth analysis you're likely to read. I feel better already for having read it and I think you will too. Even if you don't entirely agree with all of Jeremy's opinions, it's an important sign of the times that should not be ignored.
